The short version
Sniffari is a community map — be the person (and dog) you'd want to meet on a trail. Sniffari has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior: report any place, photo, review or profile from its "⋯" menu in a couple of taps — reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours — and block any user to immediately hide their content. Reviews, photos and place suggestions you add are shared with the community to make the map better for everyone; don't post anything you don't have the right to share. Browsing and contributing are free.
Your data, in short
Your account is your email address — no passwords stored, no ad trackers. Photo uploads have location metadata stripped on-device, and on-site verification never stores your raw coordinates (an exact point is stored only when you separately choose to publish a photo-map point or an Adventure Pin). Network providers still receive ordinary request metadata, RevenueCat starts an anonymous subscription identity in the current Android app, and the text you enter in a review, caption, note, list name, place submission or profile is checked before it is stored — published or kept to yourself — by a keyword blocklist today; when AI-assisted text screening is enabled that text also goes to OpenAI, and in app versions that perform image screening, once that is enabled, photos go to Microsoft Azure AI Content Safety — each solely for a moderation decision. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing support@sniffari.app, any time — your personal data is erased from Sniffari apart from the safety and legal records we must keep, and the reviews, photos, places and verifications the community already relies on remain with account attribution removed — reviews and photos show "Deleted user", places and verifications show no author (the confirmations or contradictions you gave other members' Adventure Pins also remain with your account removed; they are never shown with an author, but the pin's confirmation and contradiction counts and its last-confirmed time still include them). Their visible text or images may still contain personal information. Your account-deletion request also covers the matching RevenueCat customer record. The full Privacy Policy spells all of this out.
