Sniffari is an app for going on adventures with your pack — your dogs and your people — and for finding everything your dog needs along the way. Here’s how it works.
- The map
- Over 370,000 places across six countries: dog-friendly parks, beaches, trails, cafés and places to stay, plus the vets, groomers and pet shops around them.
- The community
- Dog owners fill the map in — reviews, photos and check-ins that tell you what a place is really like with a dog along.
- The ✓
- Anyone can verify a place by standing there with their dog. When you see the ✓, a dog owner has been there and said it’s good.

Sniffari is a social app. Follow the dog owners you meet, see what they and their dogs sniff out, and like your favourite photos.

- Your Friends feed collects the reviews, photos and check-ins from the people you follow.
- Nearby
- Nearby shows what’s happening around you — new reviews, photos and check-ins from close to home.
- Dog profiles
- Every dog on Sniffari has a profile: their name, their breed, the year they were born, and a few words about what they’re like.
- Your Pack
- Your Pack is the household. Add a dog once and they belong to everyone in the home — any of you can take them on the next adventure.
- Saved lists
- Sort your favourites into lists — beach days, road trips, the ones you keep meaning to try — and share any list with a link.

17 badges, and a rank that climbs from Puppy to Pack Leader as you collect them. Reviews, photos, check-ins and verifications all count.
Park Ranger for parks, Beachcomber for beaches, Reviewer and Photographer for what you add — and Founding Pack, the one you can only earn while Sniffari is in beta.

Can I use Sniffari today?
Yes — on Android, by request. Sniffari is a small beta right now: ask below and we’ll email you the next build. On an iPhone, ask anyway — we’ll let you know when the iOS version is ready.
When is the app in the stores?
Sniffari is arriving on Google Play and the App Store — there isn’t a date yet. Until then the Android beta is the app, and everyone who asks is on the list, iPhone included.
Is Sniffari free?
Yes. Browsing is free, and so is everything you add — reviews, photos, check-ins, saved lists. Badges and the Community feeds are free too. Premium adds some conveniences on top.
Where does the place data come from?
OpenStreetMap seeds the candidates; the community adds the reviews, photos, verifications and places of its own. Over 370,000 places are on the map so far. Imported pins say “help verify” until someone verifies them on-site. Full method and credits: sniffari.app/osm-data.
What does the ✓ on a place mean?
That a person stood there with their dog and said so. Verifying happens on the spot — Sniffari checks you are within 150 m of the place before it counts. One confirmed visit is enough to turn a place into a ✓ for everyone.
What does “help verify” mean on a pin?
That the place is on the map and waiting for its first ✓. Get within 150 m, verify it, and it turns Verified for everyone.
How do reports work?
A report control sits on every review, photo and profile — one tap opens Report. On a place it lives in the “⋯” menu, one tap further. Reports are reviewed and acted on within 24 hours, and you can block any user to hide their content instantly.
Is my data private?
Photo uploads have location metadata stripped on-device, on-site verification never stores your raw coordinates (an exact point is stored only when you separately choose to publish a photo-map point or an Adventure Pin), and there are no ad trackers. What you write is checked for banned words before it is stored, and AI-assisted screening of text and photos is switched on per provider — the privacy policy names each one and says when.
